He built on those skills through training and certification in a highly specialize career coaching development program.

Where he started
Scott started his IT career while in the U.S. Navy and continued to work in high tech for more than 20 years where he led, developed, and mentored 100’s of individuals. Scott had the unique opportunity to partner collaboratively across each company where he developed solid knowledge and experience across departments including Software and Hardware Engineering, IT and Technical Support, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, and Human Resources. He had a successful career and advanced up the ladder to lead a large technical and finance team as a Director with 44 global engineers and managers.
After 5 challenging but fun years as a Director, Scott started experiencing burnout and decided that it was time to make a change. He left his job and started a home repair franchise called Mr. Handyman. His business was a success and in 2 years he set a national record for franchise growth. Unfortunately, the effects of burnout still lingered, and Scott decided to sell his business, pack his bags, and relocate to Austin.
This was the change that Scott needed. He went to a Career Coach and discovered very quickly that Career Coaching was his ideal career: a perfect fit. His passion for mentoring and developing individuals coupled with his in-depth knowledge of multiple careers prepared him for the transition into Career Coaching.
Twelve years later
Scott is now one of the top career coaches in Austin, if not the entire state of Texas. Clients throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Latin America seek Scott’s guidance and coaching services.
He’s spoken at several professional venues including as a Keynote speaker for PMI Austin Chapter Fall PDS, and as a presenter for PMI Monthly Chapter Meetings, and the sole trainer for Austin PMI’s Career Day. In addition, Scott has presented at Hyperion Solutions Global Conferences in Florida and Colorado, APICS Austin’s Professional Development Meeting, Texas Recruiters Association, and Central Texas Society of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters. He has also been interviewed and quoted by Dice.com. He is LinkedIn group moderator and owner of the LGBT Austin Professional Network.
Scott successfully helps individuals transition in their career, whether they are a college student entering the work force, downsized employees looking to work in a new industry, or people looking for a career change. He provides assistance in refining interview techniques, salary negotiation advice, and the development and updating of resumes are just part of the expertise that is offered to each client. Scott received extensive training through the National Society of Career Management (TalentGuard) to become a certified Professional in Career Management (PCM).
